Application/Uses	Bispyribac-Sodium 20% WP is a selective, systemic post-emergence herbicide primarily used for the control of annual grasses, sedges, and broad-leaved weeds in direct-seeded rice fields . It is especially effective against Echinochloa spp. (barnyard grass), and also provides control of Cyperus difformis and Monochoria vaginalis . The recommended application rate is 15-45 g of active ingredient per hectare, with the optimal timing being when the target weeds are at the 2-6 leaf stage . For best results, drain the field before application, keep the soil moist, and re-flood with a shallow water layer (3-5 cm) 1-2 days after spraying, maintaining this water level for approximately one week . This product is suitable for use in indica and hybrid rice varieties but is not recommended for glutinous rice or transplanting rice fields due to potential phytotoxicity
ECOTOXICOLOGY	Bispyribac-sodium is characterized by low to moderate toxicity to biodiversity and is considered to have low mammalian oral toxicity . Studies have demonstrated that this herbicide can induce genotoxic effects in aquatic organisms, with research on the freshwater fish Clarias batrachus showing significant DNA damage when exposed to environmentally relevant concentrations over extended periods (20-30 days) . In soil environments, bispyribac-sodium dissipates more rapidly under field capacity conditions (DT50 = 7.55-27.14 days) compared to submerged conditions (DT50 = 10.13-28.60 days) . The application of organic amendments such as rice straw biochar can enhance the dissipation rate and reduce negative impacts on soil enzymatic activities and microbial populations . This product is toxic to non-target plants, and care should be taken to avoid contamination of surface water bodies during application or equipment cleaning .
